Why the winemaker recommends Broglia Vecchia Annata Gavi
Forget all the other Gavis you've ever tasted. Incredibly elegant in its simplicity. The consistency is similar to that of an older Riesling. Well balanced with a persistent "off-dry" palate
Characteristics of the wine Vecchia Annata Gavi di Broglia
What a Gavi, a white gentleman in splendid form! From vines over 50 years old in the "La Meirana" estate, the Vecchia Annata is born only in the best years. A very unusual Gavi, you expect elegance, finesse and grace, but here everything is different. The age of the vines is 70 years. Manual harvesting and selection. Fermented and aged only in steel on its own yeasts for 85 months. With an intense straw color, the nose is an explosion of perfumes and aromas, from fruity sensations, very citrusy, to notes of banana, jasmine, vanilla, white chocolate. The taste is of an amazing enveloping and softness, of great cleanliness for a smooth and persistent drink. Perfect balance.
Recommended pairings with Gavi the white wine Piedmont
A perfect pairing: carpaccio of sea bass and shrimp and rocket; Robiola delle Langhe; with pesto; with a linguine, cockles and clams.
Uncork and serve at a temperature of 10 - 12 °C in a Tulipano glass.
