Why the winemaker recommends Fratelli Giacosa Bussia Barolo DOCG 2017
The Maurizio & Paolo Giacosa company has extended its plots in recent decades right in the Barolo and Barbaresco area. High-level soils, rich in substrate and natural nutritional elements, are the basis of what wine needs to achieve surprising and exclusive wine-making results. In Monforte or the prestigious Bussia district in the Barolo area, Barbera and Nebbiolo vines are planted around the Cascina Canavera. The Bussia mention is only made in good years.
Characteristics of the Barolo Bussia wine by the Giacosa Brothers
A beautiful red tending towards garnet, bright and transparent. On the nose, notes of mint and clove, ethereal without disturbing, not very intense. In the mouth a very first softness, young, with lots of acidity and lots of tannins, pleasantly angular, never bitter. Typically Barolo, it perhaps lacks complexity, but I struggle to find faults.

Fratelli Giacosa winery
From 1991 to 2003 we looked at the increase in owned vineyards in the areas of origin of the Langhe wines. In localities: Bussia and San Pietro in Monforte d'Alba, those of the Vigna Mandorlo in Castiglione Falletto up to the vineyards in Neive. A current management of 50 hectares of vineyard that follows a protocol of good agricultural practice
