Avignonesi
Avignonesi
The Avignonesi estate is a historical reality taken over by Virginie Saverys in 2009. Located in the most representative agricultural wine-growing context such as the Tuscany region, and tells the richness and beauty of the territory of Montepulciano and Cortona. The winery has implemented its mission by adopting activities to safeguard the "Earth" and the genetic heritage, making it the fulcrum from which to create distinctive, genuine and character wines. An area of 200 hectares are divided into different estates and plots, giving rise to wines with different sensory characteristics depending on the adaptability of the native varieties: Sangiovese, Malvasia and Trebbiano, and not: Merlot, Cabernet sauvignon, Grechetto and Chardonnay.
A massive study activity in research and development is aimed not only at organic cultivation, but at making the wine as healthy and natural as possible. The wines of Avignonesi even self-produce the fertilizer necessary for the nutritional needs of the plants and to restore the balance between the various elements themselves, with the sowing of green manure between the rows. Only indigenous yeasts are used in winemaking, while large Slavonian oak barrels, oak barriques and kegs in the case of Vin Santo and Vin Santo Occhio di Pernice are used for aging.
From a company with multiple distinctive characteristics, inserted in a high-sounding enological scenario like Tuscany, extraordinary bottles are born for wines such as "Desiderio" or "Grifi", "50 & 50" the "Nobile di Montepulciano Grandi Annate", with labels equally extraordinary that refer directly to what is the great history of Avignonesi.
