Why the winemaker recommends Elvio Cogno Barbaresco Bordini
Elvio Cogno Barbaresco DOCG Bordini comes from a 2-hectare vineyard located in the municipality of Neive, in the heart of the Langhe. The Nebbiolo grapes, Lampia subvariety, are harvested manually and vinified in stainless steel with 20 days post-fermentative maceration with submerged cap. It then refines for 12-14 months in large Slavonian oak barrels and for a further 6 months in the bottle.
Characteristics of Elvio Cogno Bordini wine
Pouring the Barbaresco DOCG Bordini into the glass, you are fascinated by its intense ruby red color, with light garnet reflections. On the nose, a complex and harmonious bouquet opens with aromas of small ripe fruit, violets, sweet spices and liquorice. In the mouth, the wine conquers with its elegant structure and its perfect balance between vibrant acidity and soft tannins. An enveloping and persistent sip, which gives an aromatic finish of cherry jam, tobacco and sweet spices.
