Michele Chiarlo has a precise idea of wine: large bottles are born of meticulous and constant attention to every aspect of production. Practices respectful of the natural evolution of the vineyards, studied so that the varieties express themselves in their full recognizability; which provide for the protection of the soil, the vines and the man who works them, trying to preserve the biodiversity and the balance of the ecosystem. Which favor natural fertilization, grassing, green manure with nutritious essences; meticulous operations on the green with targeted and never exaggerated qualitative thinning, vineyard led by vineyard, log by log according to the artisan philosophy that considers each bunch a microcosm to be valued and preserved in its uniqueness and personality.
Characteristics of the Barbera wine:
Barbera d'Asti 16 Months DOCG still, limpid, brilliant, ruby red wine with violet reflections of luminous intensity. Thin and numerous tears, fragrant with good aromatic intensity; red fruits cherry, raspberry, toasted, balsamic, leather and floral. Dry, good acidity and balanced alcohol, medium body, medium-high persistence, fine tannins, on the back nose it highlights the fruit.
Recommended pairings with Barbera wine:
Barbera d'Asti DOCG 16 Months Le Orme 2022 by Michele Chiarlo excellent with traditional Piedmontese dishes: mafalde with shelled dried broad bean purée; vegetable first courses with lamb meat; cabbage and pork foot stew; Chops better if spicy; goes well with the Neapolitan casatiello.
