Another staid Barbera from Piedmont that demonstrates just how capable this grape is when treated right. Planted on a 30 degree slope of limestone clay soil. This is a beautiful wine to eat. It has solid dark cherry fruit and a softly tannic finish.
Characteristics of the Barbera D'Alba wine:
Barbera D'Alba DOC La Ginestra 2020 by Paolo Conterno Piedmont red wine with violet reflections. Aromas of black fruit and berries such as blackberries, cherries, ripe plums; combined with candied fruit, caramelized oranges and mineral notes. Wonderful notes of toasted bread with vanilla and cinnamon. On the palate, with soft tannins and good sustaining acidity. Excellent black and deep fruit. The wine finishes very strong without being opulent, with great elegance and minerality.
Recommended pairings with Barbera D'Alba wine:
The freshness dictated by the flavor of Barbera D'Alba La Ginestra DOC goes well with a carpaccio with oranges and artichokes, lamb chops, cheeses, with pizza, fresh and/or dried fruit of all kinds.
Uncork and serve Barbera D'Alba La Ginestra DOC at a temperature between 16 - 17°C, in a Rhine glass.
