Viticultori Piemontesi since 1956, Vinicola Michele Chiarlo in Calamandrana with 110 hectares of vineyards owned and rented; the best Cru of the Langhe, Monferrato and Gavi. Farmers since 1939, the brothers Pietro and Felice Chiarlo realize that wine is the future of the Piedmontese hills. Pietro's experiences were consolidated in 1952 at the head of the social cooperative of Calamandrana, as president. The winery owned by Michele Chiarlo is the eldest son of Pietro, an oenologist and in 1956 he worked with the first vinification of Barolo in bottles with the name of Michele Chiarlo dated 1958. It is the beginning of a path of land selection, in Cerequio village of La Morra and Cannubi, to enhance the quality of Barbera the native par excellence of Monferrato. Michele Chiarlo is one of the historical founders of the Consorzio Grandi Vini, founders of the Accademia del Barolo, and of being chosen to be part of the Institute of Italian Wine of great brands. He entrusts the management of the company to his sons Stefano, producer and oenologist and Alberto commercial and marketing who continue to work following the traditional protocols of a family winery. Attention and rigor to the care of the vineyards, with particular regard to the environment and sustainability, exclusively native vines: Nebbiolo, Barbera, Cortese and Moscato grown in the hills and vinifications in large barrels or tonneaux, choices that favor excellence.
