Why I suggest Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Pegrandi Vaona 2018
Amarone Cru since it comes from the vineyard from which it takes the name "Pegrandi". It stands out when compared to other amarone from the same cellar. I find it a good way to approach this our wine that is so fashionable these days. It is difficult to believe in the high alcohol content considering how (relatively) light this wine is. It is a Wonderfully smooth Amarone that makes you want to have a second bottle.
The Sommelier: This Pegrandi begins with a sumptuous color and concentration with brilliant ruby reflections, followed by a nose with a wonderful bouquet of sweet fruit, tobacco and tar or smoke. It offers intense aromas of black cherries, berries, raspberries but also spicy notes and firm tannins, fantastic balanced all together as a married couple of elderly. The finish is intense for a long time, appetizing with an aftertaste of sweet cherry that leaves a lasting impression on the palate.
Recommended pairings: Excellent Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Pegrandi Vaona with pheasant with walnuts and truffle; pork fillet, pasta and beans; Amarone risotto and fresh pasta with duck ragù, Troccoli and cuttlefish stuffed with spicy sauce; Florentine Chianina Steak; Seared tuna in a pan; Seasoned Taleggio cheeses, Pecorino, Parmigiano Reggiano and sweet cured meats.
Uncork and decant Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Pegrandi Vaona before serving at a temperature of 18-20 ° C, in a large Ballon glass.
