Why I suggest La Contessa Merlot
South, south and once again in Sicily. Another good producer, still not too famous. This Merlot is perfect with the hole bone and semi-seasoned cheeses. I haven't tasted too many Italian Merlots, but this is a good business card to try something else.
The Sommelier: Merlot, an excellent alternative from southern Italy: the aromas are intense and pronounced and focus mainly on blackberry, plum, toasted walnuts, camp fire, pencil, peanuts and oak. The mineral notes reach the palate and the wine has a very good length.
Recommended pairings: Perfect with the hole bone; eggplant parmigiana; orecchiette with vegetables seasoned with fried oil and salted anchovy, grilled fillet of tuna; meat tartare beaten with a knife.
Uncork and decant before serving at a temperature of 16-18 ° C, in a large Ballon glass.
Cellars: Cantina Entellano takes charge of and acknowledges the recognition of the D.O.C. Countess Entellina. The bottled wines are enriched by the identity that belongs to them, awarded by the denomination are presented to the wine world with labels: Don Luca, Entellana, Lieo, La contessa, Zonjë.
