Tenuta Asinara
Tenuta Asinara, founded by the Sassu family, embodies the passion for viticulture and the preservation of the Romangia territory in Sardinia. Located near the Gulf of Asinara, the estate combines the ancient Roman tradition of wine and olive growing with the production of fine wines and the breeding of the iconic white donkeys of Asinara, a symbol of local history and culture.
Guided by a love for the land, Tenuta Asinara cultivates fine varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cannonau and Vermentino, applying natural farming techniques, including fertilization with bovine manure produced by their Chianina oxen. This attention to natural balance allows for superior quality grapes, enhanced by exposure to the Sardinian sunlight and sea breezes, which give the wines a unique character.
Each wine of the estate tells a story, such as Herculis, inspired by the ancient name of Asinara, and Hassan, which recalls the historical figure of Hassan the Handsome. The harvest, strictly manual, is carried out at dawn to best preserve the characteristics of the grapes, while the winemaking follows a careful and respectful process, aimed at the maximum expression of the territory.
With the same care with which they cultivate the vineyards, the Sassu family dedicates itself to the preservation of the white donkeys, creatures that give an additional touch of magic to the estate. Tenuta Asinara is more than a winery: it is a project that celebrates and preserves the history, nature and traditions of Sardinia.
