Why the winemaker recommends Michele Chiarlo wines
Michele Chiarlo's Nebbiolo Barbaresco DOCG Asili 2012. For those unfamiliar, Asili is a special Barbaresco DOCG designation. This denomination can only be used in the four municipalities of Barbaresco, Neive, Alba, and Treiso. This Asili is produced in a single hectare area. The wine produced may be young, but it already manages to be deeply enjoyable. It's one of those Piedmontese reds that you sip, put down, and after two seconds, pick it up again. Who knows in a few years? Decidedly balanced.
Characteristics of Nebbiolo Wine
Nebbiolo Asili Barbaresco DOC, a great Chiarlo Cru. The ultimate expression of his Barbaresco wines. This bottle represents an almost perfect evolution: cleanliness and harmony of flavor and aroma, balance, persistence, and harmony, exceptionally preserved to achieve a perfect score.
Recommended Pairings
Michele Chiarlo's Nebbiolo Barbaresco DOCG Asili 2012 goes well with red meats, lamb, vegetable pasta dishes, cabbage stew, meat rolls, donkey stew, and is perfect with casatiello. Uncork and decant one hour before serving at 16-18°C in a large balloon glass.
