Why the winemaker recommends Barolo Bussia DOCG Francesco Clerico
Bussia is a name that evokes the true history of Barolo. We're talking about one of the most iconic and fascinating hills in the entire appellation, capable of inspiring enthusiasts from around the world. Declared on the label since 1961 as one of the first historic "crus," this wine embodies the noblest soul of Monforte d'Alba. Simply put, a liquid monument to Italian winemaking.
Characteristics of Barolo Bussia by Francesco Clerico
A Barolo of extraordinary substance and elegance. In the glass, it presents a classic, brilliant ruby red color, which naturally shifts toward garnet highlights with aging. The aromatic profile is broad and magnetic, characterized by typical notes of small red fruits, noble spices, nuances of undergrowth, and floral hints of violet. On the palate, despite its solid 14.5% ABV, it surprises with its clean mouthfeel, supported by dense yet silky tannins and a finish of infinite persistence.
Recommended pairings for Barolo Bussia
Francesco Clerico's Barolo Bussia demands dishes with great structure and personality. It pairs perfectly with great Piedmontese classics such as braised beef in Barolo, stewed wild boar, and tajarin pasta with Alba white truffle. It is also excellent with aged hard cheeses or as a superb meditation wine at the end of an evening.
Serving suggestion: Uncork and decant the wine at least two hours before serving to allow it to fully unfold. Serve at the ideal temperature of 18-20°C in large "Burgunder" or balloon glasses.
