Why the winemaker recommends Grosjean Vigneti Rovettaz Fumin Valle d'Aosta DOC 2022

Fumin, an indigenous wine from the Aosta Valley vinified with its yeasts and then aged in large wooden barrels for 15 months. Elegant wine, played on the balance between a very delicate floral nose of rose and blueberry and a sip rich in hard but expertly dosed components. An interesting and out of the ordinary wine representative of a little-known region.

Characteristics of the Fumin Vigneti Rovettaz wine Grosjean

Fumin native Aosta Valley wine made from an old vine matured for over 4 years in old wood. When presented it has very genuine aromas of morello cherry, blackberries and a spicy frame which always presents itself on the palate with morello cherry. Taste not at all intrusive, perfectly in tune with the tannins well softened by the bottle and the very tasty acidity. Lean, fresh, soft, with a fairly prolonged finish. Truly excellent and satisfying to drink.

Recommended pairings for this Valle d'Aosta DOC red wine

This Fumin perfectly accompanies polenta concia e carbonadi; game, red meat; with Aosta Valley crepes; boiled cotechino with blanched beef and green sauce; also the bruschetta.

Uncork and decant before serving at a temperature of 16 - 18°C in a large glass.
