Why the winemaker recommends Baglio di Serramarrocco Sicilia DOC 2018
History grants the name "Baglio", which in ancient times meant "the farm", belonging to noble feudal families in Sicily in the 1600s. The name is associated with an indigenous Sicilian grape, Nero d'Avola. Produced in the cellars of Marco Serramarrocco, an elegant wine with an aristocratic character, it evolves in complexity even in the glass. On the palate a mix of sensations, soft tannins and territorial flavor. A Nero d'Avola generous on the nose, inviting to drink and pleasant overall.
Characteristics of the Baglio di Serramarrocco wine from Serramarrocco
Nero d'Avola del Baglio di Serramarrocco, a brilliant product with good consistency and alcohol content. Clear red wine with ruby reflections. Olfactory sensation: aroma of jam from ripe Sicilian fruits, figs, cherries. Softness on the palate and an invigorating flavor in the mouth, suggesting the original grape variety, very long finish.
Recommended pairings for this Sicily red wine Nero d'Avola
Excellent nero d'Avola from Baglio di Serramarrocco with dishes with a robust and spicy flavour, grilled tuna, foods seasoned with sweet and sour sauces, roast pork, mature cheeses, grilled swordfish. Snails bourguignonne, game meat.
